We started Saturday at Frog's Leap in Napa, tasting a little bit of their newest release of Sauvignon Blanc and Cab Sauvignon, and moved on to V. Sattui. Our third stop was the champagne caves at Schramsburg, and we wrapped up the tastings overlooking Napa at Sterling Vineyards. Despite being sated with wine we went on to two other places just for the fun of their non-wine-related attractions -- Clos Pegase had lovely art work, and Beringer has beautiful grounds. Once we were wined-out, we meandered around the grounds at Beringer for a little while until it was time for our dinner reservation next door at the Culinary Institute of America (the OTHER CIA!)

We spent most of the day in our car, cruising up and down Highway 12 and the Silverado Trail, dodging traffic created by those Other Tourists. We thought we might sell Ash on the idea of a convertible, but she's pretty much a dyed-in-the-wool 4Runner woman, appearances to the contrary. |
