Wine Country with the Josephs

Beringer and the CIA

By the time we got to Beringer, we were ready to enjoy the view and lie on the grass, but not to taste one more drop of wine. (We'd already made a swing by Clos Pegase, where they have great art but no wines we needed to taste.) We walked around the Beringer brothers' old house, lay down on the lawn, and mellowed out until it was time for our reservation at the Culinary Institute of America.

The CIA was an amazing place for dinner: good food, nice patio, great company. There was glass in Mary's tea, but we figure Mary just attracts glass wherever she goes so it's not really the restaurant's fault. (It's a long story -- suffice to say that there was lots of amusement and no blood!) Matthew and Mary both enjoyed fancy grape juice, made from wine grapes -- definitely a few dozen cuts above your average glass of Welch's.

Old Friends

The grass at Beringer was lovely and green and surprisingly comfortable!

Matthew was nice enough to take a picture of the three of us who had clearly been visited by the same wardrobe-fairy.
