Sterling Vineyards was the last place we made any efforts to taste the wine: we were mostly there to picnic, but they were also having a little event with food that matched specific new releases of wine, so we stopped by a few tables and tasted some light summery wines. They were certainly nice, but they were no Cremant. The picnic was lovely: olive tapenade, crusty bread, a couple of kinds of cheese from V. Sattui, and a breeze just strong enough to make sitting in the sun pleasant. Top of the World Reachable primarily by tram, Sterling is up high enough on a hill to have a great view of Napa.
You see the view was quite inspirational.
